Alessandro & Sophie — a wedding at Castello Monaci
An international wedding, Alessandro and Sophie's: he's from Puglia, she came from further afield, and Castello Monaci was chosen as the meeting point between two worlds. Its towers and centuries-old gardens framed a day that moved from the warm light of early afternoon to the string lights of the party, never losing the thread of relaxed elegance that was there from the very first preparations.
We chose to alternate black and white — for the more intimate, spontaneous moments of the morning — with colour, to capture the full vibrancy of the ceremony and the party: the white of the dresses, the green of the gardens, the warm evening lights under the castle.
Silk robes and laughter on the stairs
Getting ready happened in two different rooms of the castle: on one side the men, in white shirts, helping each other with cufflinks; on the other Sophie and her bridesmaids, in matching silk robes, laughing their way down the castle's grand stone staircase. These are the moments we always love to tell — no posing, just the natural excitement of knowing the party is only hours away.
The ceremony beneath the towers
Before reaching the courtyard, Sophie was walked down the staircase by her mother, in a quiet, intimate moment that lasted only seconds but said everything about the emotion of the day. The ceremony then took place in the inner courtyard, under an arch of white flowers that echoed the castle's pale stone. After exchanging rings, Sophie walked alone down the long avenue of the park, bouquet in hand, in the golden light of late afternoon — one of the most beautiful and most photographed moments of the entire day.
Under the stars, until late
As darkness fell, the courtyard transformed: strings of lights hung between the palm trees, the dance floor stayed lively well into the night, guests in long dresses raising a glass between toasts. The drone let us tell this part of the story too, from a vantage point impossible from the ground: the illuminated castle seen from above, the party still going on below.
